James Shaw Jr. Is The Waffle House Hero Who Saved Countless Lives

James Shaw Jr. didn’t expect to become a hero on early Sunday morning, but that’s exactly what happened when he stopped Travis Reinking, who has been identified as the Waffle House shooter in Tennessee.

In a Sunday afternoon press conference, Shaw Jr., with a level of calmness and composure, details what happened at that moment and how he was able to stop Reinking despite being completely unarmed.

During the same press conference and in interviews after, Shaw Jr. tried to downplay his act of courage, saying he was a hero.

But everyone who was there, the Nashville police and millions of other people would strongly disagree.

He is the hero here, and no doubt he saved many lives,” Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron said.

Four people were killed as a result of this brutal attack, but if it wasn’t for James Shaw Jr., it could have been way, way worse.
