‘Your Wife Only Wanted You For Money’: Fans React To Jaden Ivey Saying Chicago Bulls Lied and His Wife’s Been Ignoring His Texts Since He Was Released

Former Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons player Jaden Ivey is going through it. Ivey, the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft, hasn’t been right since suffering a broken fibula during the 2025 season, and a knee in during the 2025 preseason. Known for his elite athleticism and quickness, Ivey has looked nothing like that player in his return to the court.

Jaden Ivy Claims Family Betrayal

Because of that the Detroit Pistons traded him to the Chicago Bulls prior to the Feb. 5 trade deadline. While Ivey averaged a solid 11 points, five rebounds and four assists in four appearances for the Bulls, his questionable social media activity forced the team to release him. Now, Ivey is claiming his wife won’t return text messages and his entire family betrayed him calling him crazy.

Ivey Comments Got Him Cut

During a March 30 Instagram Live Ivey made some critical and controversial comments about the NBA’s involvement in Pride Month activities. Ivey also added some comments about religion even calling Catholicism a “false religion.” This came in the wake of several social media videos which lasted nearly an hour and an increase in evangelism in the Bulls locker room, which agitated some team staff members.

He was relasesd for conduct detrimental to the team.

In the aftermath of being waived, Ivey returned to social media to speak out:

“They’re liars, bro. This is lying,” he said. “All I’m preaching about is Jesus Christ and they waived me. They say I’m crazy, right? I’m psycho.”

“They said your conduct is detrimental to the team. I haven’t been with the team. I haven’t been with the team because I’ve been rehabbing,” Ivey stressed out, “So how’s my conduct detrimental to the team? Where have I done detriment? Did the players, did I say, man, you suck? Did I say you suck to the players? That would be detrimental to the team, right? Because I don’t trust them. I’m saying the player sucks and I’m on the same team as him, right? And he’s, my teammate.

“We supposed to be teammates,” Ivey complained. “We supposed to be on the same team, right? We supposed to be playing together, right? We supposed to be passing the ball to each other, right? We supposed to be doing handoffs and ball screens, right? We supposed to be doing these things together.”

Ivey Makes Comments About Steph Curry

In a strange twist, Ivey decided to come for Steph Curry in one of his social media rants. He even called the NBA‘s greatest shooter, who’s also a two-time MVP and four-time NBA champion, a fake Christian.

“He don’t know Jesus. … I pray he’s saved in Jesus name,” Ivey ranted. “All that stuff isn’t gon’ matter on Judgement Day. All them rings he got. All them rings LeBron got. All them rings Jordan got. All them people in the Hall of Fame who don’t know Jesus Christ. They got try to stop me, but I’m not. I’ma keep speaking the truth.”

Fans Chime In On The Ordeal

Ivey’s odd behavior, which screams mental health issues, brought the masses to social media with plenty to say.

Former NFL star Antonio Brown, who always has something to say, chimed in with, “He really thought white b-tches was loyal.”

“Because he is crazy,” Brown added. “He’s just going on these religious psychosis rants. You can be a Christian but why do you want to force it down everyone’s voice. I dont wanna hear Christians, muslims, Jewish people etc.”

“Religious people are annoying as f-ck,” another fan said.

“Jaden is now acting like someone struggling with depression and clearly needs help,” another fan replied.

“Your wife only wanted you for fame and money anyway,” a fan quipped.

“They want to make look crazy so that he loses credibility… pray for him 🙏🏼🙏🏼,” a fan mentioned.

“The fact that you brought your family business to the internet and you chose to campaign against someone else’s life choices over a multi million dollar career is a sign that you’re losing your mind,” another fan spewed.

Jaden’s Mom Is Niele Ivey

With all that Jaden’s dealing with one has to wonder where his mom is? She’s the head coach of the Notre Dame women’s basketball team, and her son is showing some real signs of depression and unstable behavior mentally.

All we can do from afar is hope he gets the help he needs and gets it before it’s too late.
