Former Seton Hall and NBA basketball Jerry Walker is running for Mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey, and he just picked up an endorsement from Jadakiss. The two grew up together and Jadakiss remembers watching Walker ball as a kid, but says he's an even better person.
The hip hop connection could be crucial for Walker's campaign. For the first time in U.S. history, a higher percentage of black voters turned up at the booth than white voters. Jersey City is a diverse community, and African Americans make up 28 percent of the city (compared to 34 percent white and 16 percent Asian). The endorsement from the D-Block General might be just what he needs to earn that new mailing address.
