Jackson State & Prairie View Matchup Ends With A Postgame Fight

These kids are taking the lyrics to “Knuck If You Buck” too seriously.

Monday night’s SWAC matchup between the Prairie View A&M Panthers and the visiting Jackson State Tigers will go down as a 70-61 win in the scorer book for the Prairie View.

But when the game was over, everybody lost.

A fight broke out in the handshake line, and it appears as if Prairie View’s Darius Williams and Jackson State’s Dontelius Ross were at the cause of it. The game was chippy throughout as there was a technical foul during the final seconds.

Security and police officers intervened, as order was eventually restored. The game was a black eye for HBCU Basketball as it was being aired on ESPNU.

Earlier this month, a fight broke out between the Texas Southern and Alabama State women’s teams that led to 12 total suspensions. And on MLK Day, a fight broke out between Tuskegee University and Lemoyne-Owen that included members of the men’s and women’s teams.

This is not the Black History Month we were hoping for.
