Iverson Documentary to Debut at Tribeca

Allen Iverson is one of the most polarizing figures to come along in the past 20 years of NBA basketball.  He is easily one of the most ferocious little men to ever play the game of basketball. Heart, stamina and reckless abandon are just some of the ways Iverson was known to play in his prime.  However, all the positive bright spots were balanced out by negative tendencies like being late for practice, excessive gambling and drinking. Adding widely publicized instances where his personal life with ex-wife Tawanna Turner spilled into the media, whether things were good or bad, he lived life at full speed. And it’s one that will be examined thanks to the upcoming documentary Iverson by director-producer Zatella Beatty.

Featuring commentary from Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat, former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw, and former Sixers’ coach Larry Brown, to name a few, the 97-minute film debuts at the Tribeca Film Festival at 9:30pm Sunday, April 27. Check out the trailer below for a first look at Iverson.
