Kobe Bryant tore his rotator cuff in his right shoulder during a game against the Pelicans last week and fans are wondering if this is it for one of the greatest players of all time.
Today we learned that Kobe will undergo season-ending surgery on the shoulder Wednesday, and a timetable will be released after the surgery has been completed. This is the third season-ending, and potentially career-ending injury for Bryant. In the 2012-2013 season he tore his Achilles tendon and in 2013-2014 he suffered a knee injury.
This could be Bryant's (36) body's way of telling him that it's time to hang up his sneakers, or at the very least scale back the minutes he plays. Injuries have limited Kobe's impact as a playmaker and it seems Father Time is tapping on his shoulder. In a season that will most likely end in disappointment for Lakers fans and players alike, Kobe will use the offseason to evaluate his next move.
This is what happens when I pass too much! #ShoulderShock thank u all for ur thoughts and prayers #team @DrinkBODYARMOR @Lakers #oneluv
