No one knows the intimate secrets of another quite like his or her mate. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been one of the most durable players in the NFL over the course of his career. He has recently expressed interest in playing well into his 40’s, which is relatively ancient in football terms.
But his wife, Gisele Bundchen, spoke with Charlie Rose on CBS This Morning and spilled the family jewels, suggesting that her husband has had a rash of unreported concussions throughout his career.
I just have to say, as a wife, Im a little bit as you know, its not the most lets say [its] an aggressive sport. Football, like he had a concussion last year, she said. I mean, he has concussions, pretty much, I mean, we dont talk about [it] but he does have concussions. I dont think its a healthy thing for your body to go through like you know, to that kind of aggression all the time. That cannot be healthy for you, right? I mean I plan on having him be healthy and do a lot of fun things when were like 100, I hope.”
According to the NFL concussion protocol initially implemented in 2009, when a potential concussion is identified the player shall be removed immediately from the field and the NFL team physician and the unaffiliated nuerotrauma consultant will review the video and examine the potential victim.

Brady has no official history of head injury or concussions.
So, what she’s actually implying is that the New England Patriots did not handle the situation properly. And you really can’t blame Tom himself. Football players are notorious for wanting to push through injury. If they can stand they’re gonna wanna play.
But will they be able to stand ten years from now is the question that everyone is now asking.
