Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Announces June 6th Against Logan Paul

It’s official! Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is back and has committed to taking on YouTube boxer, Logan Paul. The fight will be an exhibition bout on June 6th at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Logan is the older brother of Jake Paul who has taken the unconventional combat sports scene by storm.

Ironically, it was Mayweather who created the new sports entertainment genre when he fought MMA star Conor McGregor back in August 2017 to a 10th round TKO.

“Mayweather Promotions, Fanmio and Showtime Boxing have come together to bring an epic event,” wrote the 44-year-old Mayweather, who is 50-0.

Paul has a 0-1 record after losing to fellow YouTube personality KSI. The Paul’s have created a financial windfall for promoters like Matchroom Sports, DAZN, Triller and FITE TV.

Mayweather, who’s last exhibition was against Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan back in December 2018, 1-0 after a first round TKO over the Japanese kickboxer in a scheduled 3 rounds.

Boxing diehards are starting to cry foul for the pairing of Paul who will reportedly compete at a limit of 190lbs and Mayweather who will compete at 160 lbs.

The bout will not affect Mayweather’s perfect professional record and a new generation of crossover fans are fascinated by the possibilities the bout brings.

Boxing has entered a new phase of entertainment and Mayweather is here for it.
