Sad news on a Thanksgiving weekend as one of the most well known and loved TV moms has passed away.
Florence Henderson, who played Carol Brady on the legendary “The Brady Bunch”, passed away at the age of 82, confirmed her manager, Kayla Pressman.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear mother Florence Henderson from Heart Failure,” the Henderson family said in a statement. “On this day of thanks, our beloved mother was surrounded by her devoted children and dearest friends. We thank all of her fans for their many years of love and ask that we be allowed to grieve in private.”
“Florence was the most vibrant and caring woman I have ever known. She never had an unkind word about anyone. She was a wonderful mother and was so proud of her 4 children and 5 grandchildren.” said Pressman.
Henderson played Carol Brady on “The Brady Bunch” from 1969 – 1974 and then reprised the role in the show’s variations including “The Brady Bunch Hour” and “The Bradys.” She is survived by children Barbara, Joseph, Robert, Lizzie and her five grandchildren. She was one of the biggest pop culturally successful and beloved on-screen TV Moms, with her role and its significance being recognized and celebrated decades after the show ended its run.

One little known fact about Florence Henderson was that she was the first female host of “The Tonight Show” early in her career. But she will forever be known as Carol Brady.
