Eric Berry Earns Fourth Pro Bowl Selection One Year After Cancer Diagnosis

Seven months after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Eric Berry was cleared to resume football activities this season after learning he was cancer-free following chemotherapy. On Tuesday, the safety was honored with his fourth Pro Bowl selection.

Berry was determined not to miss any time away from the Chiefs, but who could’ve expected that he would return to Pro Bowl form this quickly?

I kind of brainwashed myself from the get-go, that was going to be where I was and better throughout the whole process, Berry said. I just kind of started mentally picturing myself where I wanted to be. I focused on that every day and kept striving for it.

The man known as “The fifth Dimension”  has played well this season, with 2 interceptions and 58 combined tackles. Hopefully his strength and perseverance can inspire all those who are bravely battling cancer.
