Donald Trump Says He Was “The Best Baseball Player In NYC”

Im beginning to see a lot of similarities between Donald Trump and LaVar Ball. They are both celebrity blowhards who are constant subjects of social media and therefore thrust into our lives everyday.

The obscene things they say have become accepted, normal blabber which people actually embrace to a certain extent. At the end of the day they both like going against the grain and stirring the pot. First Trump refused to fill out a March Madness Bracket, breaking the tradition started by President Obama.

Recently, Rachel Maddow of MSNBC discovered some audio of Trump bringing out his inner LaVar Ball, calling himself the best baseball player in New York City when he was younger.

If you do the math, the Yankees had legends like Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra during the 1960s when Trump was a high school kid at New York Military Academy. But then again, LaVar Ball says he could beat any number of NBA legends in a one-on-one. Trump’s just promoting himself and his kids. All good right?

I was always the best athlete, Trump said. And not just baseball player… but other sports too. Now those days you couldn’t play pro baseball because there was no real money and I wanted to go into sports and theatre, but my Dad wanted me to go into real estate.

And if you dont believe Trump, he says you can ask his old academy sergeant who will vouch for his athletic prowess.

I was good at wrestling and really good at football,” Trump insisted. “I was always the best at all sports.

Considering Trumps passion for baseball its also odd that he will not participate in the longstanding tradition of presidents throwing out a ceremonial first pitch at Washington Opening Day games due to a scheduling conflict. It’s not like The Prez hasn’t taken done it before. He threw out the first pitch for a Red Sox game in 2006 and also at a Yankees game back in the day. His form looked anything but All-Star worthy.

Trump, who was inaugurated on Jan. 20, was extended an invitation by the Nationals but declined, a team spokesman said.

Washington opens its season on Monday against the Miami Marlins.

I guess Trump didnt want to continue that tradition either.

William Howard Taft was the first president to throw out a ceremonial first pitch for the Washington Senators in 1910. Thirteen presidents in all have thrown out ceremonial first pitches for the Nationals and Senators franchises.

Trump says he was the best baseball player in New York City over 50 years ago. He’s not going to tarnish his image by throwing out a first pitch that doesn’t support his boast. So I guess we have to take his word for it.
