The summer blockbuster season is gearing up to be a big one and with all the hoopla surrounding Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, some might forget about Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Directed by Matt Reeves and starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman, the sequel to 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes features a humanity that has been decimated by a virus (created in Rise of the Planet of the Apes). Struggling to maintain some semblance of civilization, the genetically-engineered chimpanzees, led by Caesar, continue to grow in numbers and threaten to emerge as the dominant species on Earth.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes premieres in theaters on July 11. Check out the trailer below:
