Captain America: The WInter Soldier Still Rules the Box Office

The box office success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier carried over to its second weekend at the box office as the film based on the Marvel Comics characters again defeated all challengers to the tune of $41,398,000 in gate receipts.  The animated film Rio 2, which features the voice talents of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez and Will.i.am, came in a close second with $39,000,000. While the horror film Oculus came in third.  Draft Day, starring Kevin Costner, received a surprisingly feeble fourth place with $9,750,000. While Noah, starring Russell Crowe, jumped out the gate three weeks ago with $43,720,472, showing that the theatrical rendition of the Biblical tale of Noah and his Ark doesn’t appeared to have a lot of staying power. The film dropped down to sixth place with $7,450,000 in its third week, finishing just behind the dystopian thriller Divergent with $7,500,000 in its fifth week.  Below is an abbreviated list of this week’s top ten at the box office.
