‘She Wouldn’t Start For UConn’: Audi Crooks Leads Mass Transfer Of Nine Iowa State Players, With Nation’s Second-Leading Scorer Reportedly Seeking $500K

Iowa State star Audi Crooks doesn’t have much left to prove on the college level. The 6-foot-3, 216-pound post player is considered one of the elite offensive forces in the country. There’s no player more effective five feet and in.

After putting Iowa State in the limelight with her unique talents, Crooks is transferring and word on the street is she’s seeking a big-time bag.

Audi Crooks Hits Transfer Portal, Reportedly Seeking Over $500K

“An SEC team has Crooks’ value in the $450,000 to $500,000 range,” a source told On3, “but expects the center to be asking for well north of the half-million mark.”

Crook Is One Of Nine Players To Transfer Out Of Iowa State

Iowa State was competitive this season — a No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament where they lost to Syracuse in the Round of 64. That’s a massive indictment on head coach Bill Fennelly and Iowa State, which is clearly going in an entirely different direction in 2026-2027.

So Crooks will have options, and her current focus is finding a compatible program to complete her last year of college eligibility next season.

During a potent junior season, she averaged a career-high 25.8 points per game. That was second in the country and led the Big 12. She also led the conference by hitting on a career-best 64.9% of her shot attempts with a 65.0% effective field goal rate.

She certainty dominates the paint. Her post presence could change the offensive capabilities and dynamics of a program.

Big Body Audi Crooks Is A Menace In The Post: Led Big 12 In Scoring & Field Goal Percentage

It was the second consecutive season that Crooks led the Big 12 in scoring, field goal percentage and 2-point field goal percentage (66.2%).  It’s not the SEC, but she also pulled 7.7 rebounds to go with  1.7 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.8 blocks in 28.8 minutes per game.

Crooks shared her decision to enter the transfer portal with a message on her Instagram account.

As first shared by Pete Nakos of On3, Crooks is seeking a significant payday of nearly $500K in the transfer portal.

Fans Only Take Audi Crooks’ Transfer Half Seriously

Naturally, some fans decided to turn the conversation into an insensitive jokefest on Crook’s weight, which didn’t fly with the more serious women’s basketball fans, aware of how a player of her magnitude can be the difference maker for a university trying to break through against the elite hoops programs such as UConn, LSU, UCLa and the like.

“Move herself to Iowa Hawkeyes….Twin tower and ChitChat as PG to feed the post…Taylor Stremlow as #2 shooting guard….another Swing man in 3rd from the transfer portal or new Mc Donald 5 stars rookie then IOWA is hard to beat,” one Hawkeyes fan said.

“Maybe Michigan or Kentucky…,” said another.

“uconn as a 6th woman? .” one X user suggested. “She wouldn’t start for UConn tho.”

“USC,” said a third fan, eager to see Crooks provide the inside punch to JuJu Watkins and Jazzy Davidson’s elite All-American backcourt.

Then as soon as the conversation started getting interesting, here comes the idiots.

“A buffet, said one X user.

“8th grade girls basketball.  She isn’t good,” said another fan.

“Burger King,” one netizen quipped.

“Shes headed for Diabetes,” another insensitive X user said.

All things considered, this is a great opportunity for Crooks to get paid, boost her WNBA draft stock and join a team with a serious chance of winning an NCAA championship. At the same time, she has to find a program that will fit her style. She isn’t the most athletic player and her stamina is an issue as you will have to get her the proper amount of rest for her to remain effective offensively.
