Are Gervonta Davis And Floyd Mayweather On The Outs?

Recently, Gervonta “Tank” Davis has seemed a bit off. Not in the ring, as he hasn’t defended his WBA (Super) super featherweight championship since winning it in April. But Davis has been “tanking” in his very public life.

GERVONTA “TANK” DAVIS SMACKS A FAN’S CELLPHONE OUT OF HIS HANDS WHILE TRYING TO TAKE A SELFIE

J Calderon Boxing Talk, 2 Time World Champion Gervonta Davis Drunk acting like a Fool with Adrain Broner & Robert Easter Jr. A Fan approaches Tank for a selfie and gets cell phone smacked out of his hands.

First, as Davis was in attendance this past weekend’s Garcia vs Porter fight in New York, he appeared to have gained a little weight, not Marcos Maidana drastic but just a tad over what you would expect in between fights.

While many speculated that both he and new ride-or-die crony Adrien “The Problem” Broner had been drinking that night, Davis and a number of other star fighters had been doing social media self-promotion back stage and around the arena. A fan eventually caught Davis’ wrath by having his phone slapped to the ground as he attempted to capture an unrequited selfie from the young champion.

And now it seems that the once close relationship between Tank and Mayweather Promotions boss “Money” Mayweather has  been going south faster than a Mayweather counter blow.

Recently, Tank has been lashing out against Mayweather on social media for the past number of days and actually revealed a text from Mayweather and saying:

“Floyd called me broke in our text convo yesterday…it motivated me!”

Recently Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has intimated his willingness to make a fight between Davis and Tevin Farmer.

Davis was in line to fight Abner Mares next after Mayweather Promotions made the announcement recently but its unclear what the status of that fight is at the moment. Notoriously, Adrien Broner has been at odds with Mayweather Promotions with the two treating each other like “frenemies” for some time now.

It came to a head when Broner fought British Mayweather Promotions fighter Ashley Theophane in Washington, DC in 2016 and publicly outed his frustrations towards Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe

With Davis hanging out with Broner and hosting his last training camp down in South Florida with famed Ohio trainer Kevin Cunningham, it seems that Davis may be defecting from The Money Team soon for Broner’s Band Camp faction.

Only time will tell but the exchanges and constant frustrations from Tank regarding opponents, fans and the boss himself is a pretty good indicator of this union possibly being dissolved in the future.
