Anthony Joshua Shows His Business Acumen In US Debut

Joshua is showing that he’s a businessman boxer as he invades NYC.

The British are coming!

Not Paul Revere but the UK’s heavyweight sensation, Anthony Joshua makes his long awaited U.S. debut this Saturday.

After losing his initial opponent, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller due to multiple PED infractions, Joshua settled on Andy Ruiz, Jr.

However, Joshua is seeking to expand his empire beyond the UK borders in more ways then lacing up the gloves.

Recently, he announced the signing of Super-Welterweight talent Souleymane Cissokho to his 258 Management venture.

Cissokho will kick off the action this weekend at Madison Square Garden on the undercard when he takes on Mexico’s Vladimir Hernandez on his first outing in the U.S.

The French boxer won bronze at the 2016 Rio Games before joining the professional ranks in 2017. He is undefeated through eight fights, with six of those victories coming via knockout.

Formed in 2018, 258 Management was established to represent the professional and commercial interests of elite level athletes. Alongside Joshua, the company has since added Olympians Lawrence Okolie and Joshua Buatsi to its stable, guiding them both to major domestic titles & looking at brand building to create commercial interest from a mainstream audience.

More Life

Joshua also is an Executive Producer of “40 Days” alongside Meek Mill and Roc Nation. The 40 DAYS documentary title is derived from the grueling preparation for a prizefight that requires roughly eight weeks of intense training.

Replete with a theme song by Brooklyn MC Casanova, Joshua is working to make sure he is accepted fully by America and the New York audience.

With all the hype around a potential Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder matchup in 2020, it is clear that Anthony Joshua is using his business acumen appropriately and aligning tastemakers in the States on his side.
