Adam “Pacman” Jones fined $35k for Cooper Slam

The NFL has fined Adam Jones $35k for slamming Oakland Raiders’ WR Amari Coopers head against his helmet.  Many fans were astonished that this personal foul did not result in an immediate ejection, despite the fact that the penalty was committed right in front of three referees.

Jones plans to appeal the fine, stating, The story is magnified because its me. Jones was also quoted as saying, I cant promise it wont happen again, Im an emotional player. 

The NFL who has been under fire over the past year due to lack of consistency in their disciplinary system and historically it appears that the League fines players based on reputation. But is this the case here? Was Pacman fined excessively, or should he accept responsibility for his actions? We’ll find out as the appeal process moves forward.
