It was the dream, marquee matchup. It would have pitted the two biggest markets in the country and featured two storied franchises.
And while the Dodgers and Astros both won over 100 games during the regular season, most couldnt have imagined this in the latest edition of the World Series.
Same goes for the Dodgers having a chance to win their first World Series since 1988.

After losing Game 5 in Houston, 13-12 in extra innings, most thought the Dodgers were wrecked, dead.

Verlander has been money in the postseason and looked almost unhittable through the first five innings in the clinching game.
But the Dodgers, down 1-0, responded in the sixth inning with two runs.
It wasnt going to be easy, said Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes, who started the rally with a leadoff single in the sixth.
It was enough damage to take the lead and force Verlander out of the game for the second time in the World Series on the losing end.
In Game 2, Verlander was down, 3-1, but his team rallied to steal the game and even the series.
Fans shouldnt be shocked that the Dodgers are here and came through against one of the best in the game.
They did this all year. There were so many magical moments. The Dodgers have been battle-tested.

As for Houston, the Astros are a different team away from home – definitely not as great.

No American League team (0-5) has won a Game 7 on the road since 1972. The Oakland As were the last team to pull it off.
