Lamar Odom checked himself out of a San Diego rehabilitation facility Thursday after spending a little over a month there.
The 37-year-old Odom had quite a rocky year and a half after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel from a drug overdose in October 2015. He was at one point placed on life support and was said to have suffered multiple stroke by media outlets.
Shortly after his road to recovery began, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from the former Los Angeles Laker star. Odom reportedly made the decision to check into rehab after visiting a friend in Delaware, who is serving a 26-year prison sentence, who advised him to do whatever it took to take control of his life.

Speaking with TMZ while exiting the facility, Odom referred to his experience as “Awesome. Life changing”.
He seemed to be in good spirits as he stopped to take pictures with two fans and also joked about an off-camera motorcyclist “tearing the road up”. He did however decline to discuss what he learned from the situation under the guise of his publicist, but did say he may do a reality show in the near future.
Odom did say that he had not been in communication with the Kardashian clan, but would reach out to his ex-wife as they remain cordial to each other.
