Everyone knows the NBA All-Star voting process has been flawed for a long time, enabling worthy players to be snubbed in favor of popular players. Last night we were shown another example of how flawed it is.
Trailblazers’ star guard, Damian Lillard, was an obvious snub from this year’s All-Star game, and he decided to take his frustrations out on the League leading Golden State Warriors by dropping 51 on them en route 137-105 beat down of the Champs. The All-Star dissed player also shot 18 for 28 and added seven assists and six steals to his night, leaving the Warriors stunned and sitting at 48-5.
But this isn’t the first time that Lillard went off on Curry and the Warriors. Back in January he dropped 40 points and 10 assists on them, and even though they ended up losing by 20, it proves that Lillard can go one-on-one with Curry and more than hold his own. The Trailblazers are now 28-27, in the seventh spot in the Western Conference Playoff standings and have won 13 of their last 16 games. Don’t sleep on the Blazers….
