On Thursday night, Washington Football Team safety Deshazor Everett was involved in a fatal car crash in Loudoun County, Virginia, in which his passenger was killed.
According to reports, Everett was driving a 2010 Nissan GT-R when it left the right side of the roadway, struck several trees, and rolled over. Olivia S. Peters, the 29-year-old passenger from Las Vegas, later died at a local hospital.
Washington DB Deshazor Everett was involved in a fatal crash last night that left a female passenger dead, per the Loudoun County Sheriff. Everett is in the hospital with “serious but non-life threatening injuries.” The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Everett’s Fateful Loss
According to her Facebook profile, Peters was Everett’s girlfriend and the founder and owner of OSP Therapy in Las Vegas.
“We strive to give children independence in their daily life activities, as well as a sense of self,” she wrote. “We assist children in developing skills that occupy their days in their home and community environment.”

Olivia is a 2010 graduate from Our Lady Of Good Counsel High School. She went to college at the University of South Carolina for undergrad and Shenandoah University for her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
The Aftermath
Everett is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries from the crash. In the aftermath, according to reports, debris was left a couple of hundred feet from where the car first left the road, and the incident is under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by this tragedy,” Washington Football Team said in a statement. “Our team has alerted the league office and is working with local authorities as we continue to gather more information.”

You Are Not Alone
According to reports, two other Washington players, linebacker Jamin Davis and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste were driving in a car behind Everett’s. The two athletes told police that they had gone out to dinner with Everett earlier that night.
According to reports, the players remained at the crash scene to speak to the authorities. No arrests or charges have been made, and currently, alcohol is not thought to be a factor.

Although Davis was excused from practice Friday for personal reasons, WFT coach Ron Rivera reportedly said he expects him to play during Sunday’s home game against the Eagles.

Everett The WFT Staple
The 29-year-old Everett has been a backup safety and special teams player for Washington since 2015. Everett went to Texas A&M before going to the NFL. He was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 before joining Washington that same year.

He made his debut in the team’s 23–20 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. On October 18, 2015, Everett recorded his first career tackle on linebacker Trevor Riley while covering a kickoff in the second quarter of the Redskins’ 34–20 loss at the New York Jets.
