The International Olympic Committee has added 3-on-3 basketball as an official sport to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic program .
“I am delighted that the Olympic Games in Tokyo will be more youthful, more urban and will include more women,” IOC President Thomas Bach said in a statement.
It has yet to be determined if the teams will be comprised of NBA and other professional 5-on-5 players, or those who specialize in the 3-on-3 game.
