Zach Wilson might be the first NFL player to benefit from being considered a toxic “bro.” The New York Jets quarterback has lived the middle of the summer with the rumor that he slept with his mother’s best friend.
Although no one, including his mother or her unknown best friend, has disputed the rumor, the Wilsons are basking in the love-hate relationship that comes with being at the top of the sports gossip list.
Now the hype is getting stranger for the Wilson family as his mom, Lisa Wilson, has media stalking her for pictures at the gym. She recently took to her IG Stories to scold the media for following her and attempting to take pictures.

“Look, believe me, I know that sometimes life can be stupid. I mean, hell, I just found out that there were some ridiculous news sources, like joke news sources, hiding out in the parking lot of my gym taking pictures of me,” Lisa said.
However, the optimistic Lisa Wilson turned the moment into a life coaching session where she extolled her wisdom to her massive following.
“So, I get it. I know some days, it just doesn’t feel like you’re going to make it out. But you’re in charge of your own happiness. None of these people get to tell you if you’re going to be happy or not. None of these people get to write your story.
“Every day, every single day, you get vertical, you get on your feet, you look in the mirror and you say, ‘Girl, today’s going to be a damn good day.’ You make your bed. You armor up and you get out there and you live your freaking amazing life.”
It’s just another day in the life of a Wilson post-rumor.
Recently, Zach’s dad has jumped into the mix in the weirdest ways, turning the rumor into a joke with fans. A Wilson supporter posted a pic with the young QB but explained how the elicited beaming smiles came from how Michael Wilson, Zach’s father, treats the ongoing rumor.

Clearly, the rumor has not stopped the sense of humor on the male side of the Wilson clan, as Michael Wilson is enjoying the moment as much as his son. With Wilson as the QB for the New York Jets, he is moving into a legendary womanizing reputation like his long-ago predecessor “Broadway” Joe Namath, partially named after the most expansive street in Gotham City, for his unconfirmed allure to women.
Zach’s parents, Michael and Lisa Wilson, have been married since 1997, two years before their star football player son was born. A successful entrepreneur, Michael is complemented by Lisa, a personal trainer who is beginning to become bothered by all the newfound attention.

Before the rumors of the young Wilson possibly treating his mother’s friendship circle as a dating pool, she shut down Twitter during the 2021 NFL draft night. The two took a picture when he was selected second overall by Gang Green, and fans were as excited that his mom would join the cheering fans at MetLife Stadium, as they were happy to have the BYU Cougars standout.
As life evolves for the Wilsons, they realize that fame does not live in a silo as it has extended to Zach Wilson’s parental units, albeit for dubious reasons.
