Meet Jerome Kerviel, the poorest man on the planet. He owes his job $6.3 billion dollars (insert Dr. Evil pinky).
To make matters even worse, he is in jail! Good gawd, someone please poor a little out for homie.
Kerviel owes the money to his former employer, a French bank named Societe Generale, for fraudulent trades made in 2007 and 2008.
University of San Diego law professor Frank Partnoy who is a former banker had said this about Kerviel:
"Well, he's obviously not going to be able to pay the fine," Partnoy told the Atlantic. "What happened to Kerviel is the financial equivalent of sentencing someone to life plus 100 years.”
Looks like he will be putting his light bill in his kid’s name for a while.
