Actor Michael K. Williams has been one of the most engaging actors in American cinema since the days of The Wire and Boardwalk Empire and beyond while actress Marsha Blake has been garnering accolades since 2002 on such shows as Orange is the New Black, Happyish and Black List.

Yet with their roles as parents in in Ava DuVernay‘s When They See Us on Netflix, Williams and Blake told The Shadow League that they had to dig deep to find the emotions to portray the emotions required properly convey the angst of two parents whose child has been snatched from them by the apathy of the system.
