Ever since Tupac's hologram graced the stage with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at Coachella, rumors about who would be brought back to life flew around in excitement and anticipation, but it appears Eazy E has been selected for reincarnation on the stage at Rock The Bells, along with Ol' Dirty Bastard. Eazy E will perform with Bone Thugz-n-Harmony, who he signed during his days at N.W.A.
The Bone Thugz is excited. From Esquire:
“The whole idea of having [Eazy] resurrected in the same fashion that Snoop and Dre did Pac was warm and welcoming,” says Flesh-N-Bone of Bone Thugs. “After that, we were ecstatic to see Eazy come to life in such a way. This is technology at its greatest level.”
“Of course the vocals have to be on point,” says Flesh. “And the image too. If they make him five-ten—when he wasn't that—then it wouldn't do him any justice. It has to be as true-to-life as possible. There were parts of [Eazy's] repertoire that made him so special, like that he was this little dude with this giant voice, and that he had this swagger to him.”
“If you ever saw Eazy on stage, he liked to have fun,” adds Krayzie Bone. “He would run around and everything. I asked if they could do that, and they said, 'Yeah.'”
“We're looking for every single part to be authentic and exactly how it would all be if Eazy was really there,” says Flesh. “After the show, he would be outside with the fans signing autographs and taking pictures. That's the same routine that I follow, and that I'll follow [at Rock the Bells]—give fans a piece of Flesh-N-Bone's soul. That's what Eazy would do, so you know I got to spread that love.”
