Anwan Glover, best known for his role as Slim Charles on HBO’s hit series The Wire, was stabbed and kicked in a Washington D.C. nightclub early Sunday shortly before 2 a.m.
The 41-year-old actor told investigators he was at Café Asia in D.C., early Sunday when an unknown person punched him and another person hit him on the head. Glover told police he was then kicked repeatedly and felt sharp pain in his side. Glover was taken to George Washington University Hospital where he was treated for a laceration to his torso.
Glover spoke about the incident and his condition on his Instagram writing a post stating, “I am recovering and will be back soon,” Glover wrote in a post shared Sunday night. “My flesh may be stabbed, but my spirit is unbreakable.”
Glover most recently appeared in the Oscar-winning movie 12 Years a Slave.
