The Shadow League’s Top 7 MLB Stories of 2019

As the Shadow League completes its seventh year as a formidable, reputable and growing voice in the sports culture digital space, sticking with the numbers theme, we give you seven of our Top MLB Stories of 2019.  

Our approach to baseball is cultural, especially as it pertains to the African-American athlete, but we do acknowledge the entire MLB family and the myriad countries and ethnicities that its players represent, from The Latin Lords to the Asian Aces.  

Shouts to journeyman Black Knight Howie Kendrick who was a postseason star for the World Series champion Washington Nationals. His performance was noteworthy.

The seven stories selected were important, not only for social media success, but because the subject matter represents those individuals who are the lifeline of African-Americans in MLB.

Those diverse faces who continue a rich tradition and cultural excellence that Jackie Robinson mainstreamed in 1947, but dates back way before Jackie or the formation of the Negro Leagues.
