The NBA Delivers “The Gift Of Basketball” on Christmas Day

The NBA has launched a new Im Why spot entitled The Gift of Basketball that highlights unforgettable NBA moments that gets fans in the holiday spirit and brings us all together for the excitement of the league’s five marquee Christmas Day matchups.  

Part of the leagues global This Is Why We Play campaign, the spots vibrant holiday-themed graphics and jaw-dropping game footage are set to a classic version of Jingle Bells, and reminds fans why these exciting match ups make it feel like Christmas morning 5 times in one day.

The Gift of Basketball

There’s a reason NBA fans can’t wait for Christmas Day. Showcasing five of the most exciting match ups and rivalries from around the league, the NBA on Christmas Day games give family and friends a chance to enjoy all the unbelievable plays and unforgettable moments together.

The Gift of Basketball spot will make its debut tonight, Thursday, December 14th, during the TNT prime time games between Los Angeles Lakers vs Cleveland Cavaliers and the Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors.

The Christmas Day schedule kicks off with the Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks at 12:00p ET on ESPN. The following games are the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Golden State Warriors at 3:00p ET on ABC, the Washington Wizards at the Boston Celtics at 5:30p ET on ABC, the Houston Rockets at the Oklahoma City Thunder at 8:00p ET on ABC, and ends with the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Los Angeles Lakers at 10:30p ET on TNT.
