Writer and director Sam Raimi surprised those in attendance at San Diego Comic Con this week, when he announced he'll be writing a television series, with is brother Ivan, based upon his The Evil Dead film trilogy.
Raimi wrote and directed the original 1981 The Evil Dead film, as well as its two sequels, 1987's The Evil Dead II, and 1992’s Army of Darkness. A film reboot of The Evil Dead was released in 2013, which Raimi co-produced. Bruce Campbell, who starred as the main protagonist in the original trilogy, will also star in the television adaptation of the original film franchise.
