About a month ago, Tiger Woods made his long-awaited return to the PGA Tour. He had a sparkling first day and finished with a tie for 23rd at Torrey Pines. It was a return that brought promise and excited a golf world that has been longing for a larger than life figure and equivalent marketing icon ever since.
Today, Tiger starts his latest comeback event. The 42-year-old legend will be playing in a Pro-Am event today which kicks off the Honda Classic this week in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Tiger is playing back to back events after he had eight bogeys in his round of 5-over 76 to miss the cut by four shots at Riviera four days ago.
After his early morning tee time, Tiger addressed the media, tempered all unrealistic expectations of him returning to dominant form this week and let it be clear that more than contending, more than winning, the 14-time major winner is here trying to get the fire of competing at the highest levels back in his belly in just his third official start of the 2018 PGA season.

Im starting to get that feeling again,” Tiger said to reporters. Where each and every shot counts. Where I’m looking at where I need to put the golf ball. Im looking at (weather) forecasts…things that…before you know, if youre at home, who cares where the wind is coming from. Who cares what the forecast is the next couple of days. But now playing tournament golf, I’m starting to get into that flow again. I missed it and it’s becoming familiar again.
It’s been two years since Tiger last blessed the Honda Classic. He will play the first two rounds with Brandt Snedeker and Patton Kizzire. They begin play at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, 12:45 p.m. on Friday.

Some good news for Woods came on Tuesday when he was announced as one of Team USA’s vice captains for the Ryder Cup.
“The Ryder Cup is incredibly special to me,” Woods said, having been picked by Team USA captain Jim Furyk. “I am thrilled to once again serve as a Ryder Cup vice captain and I thank Jim for his confidence, friendship and support.”
Woods has not competed in the Ryder Cup as a player since 2012 and doesnt know if he will participate considering that hes ranked 544th in the world.
Nothing that Woods does now really matters. The Masters at Augusta National is 42 days away and thats really when everyone wants to see if the revamped Tiger Woods can hop into his time machine and give us one last magical run and the greatness of diversity personified on the PGA Tour.
