The legend. The Myth. The journey continues for golfs incomparable Tiger Woods, who will make his 2018 PGA Tour debut today.
Once an untouchable titan of the sports world, Woods has played only 23 events on the PGA Tour since his last victory. He also has gone more than four drama-filled years without winning an event. A whirlwind of difficulties have befallen Woods since that victory at the Bridgestone Invitational in August 2013 when he was No. 1 in the world.

Back in December, a 42-year-old Tiger shot his first competitive round of golf in 301 days. Despite not winning a major since he won his 14th at the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course on June 16, 2008 on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff against Rocco Mediate, flashes of yesteryear had the golf world in an uproar, reminding everyone that the greatest golfer to ever do it still has few equals when it comes to global interest and owning the marketing world.
After dazzling fans by shooting an opening round of 69 that had disbelievers singing his praises, Tiger turned it up another notch, shooting a 68 and starting his second round at the Hero World Challenge in Bahamas with three birdies in his first four holes.

In that time, his odds to win the 2018 Masters climbed to 15/1. That’s the Tiger Effect at work. He couldnt sustain the greatness and faltered as the weekend winded to a close, but the fact that his health had held up was most important because Tiger says he has his eyes set on an eighth U.S. Open victory in April.
Regardless of his performance, his presence always boosts golfs visibility with the average sports fan and makes the sport a must-see event.
“I just really haven’t played tournament golf in, well, basically since Wyndham in 2015,” Woods said. “It’s been a long time and so I just want some starts, I want to start feeling what it feels like to be out here and hit shots, grind out scores. It’s been a full year that I’ve played on the Tour so I’m really looking forward to it.”
