Yesterday we were ripped apart once again by another mass shooting.
This time at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County, Florida, where 17 people were gunned down by a terrorist, by another homegrown terrorist.
As the news quickly spread, lives were destroyed, hearts were ripped open and tears flowed undammed across the country and the world as another school massacre took place despite the warnings and emotional pleas for prevention and help through measures such as gun control, pleas which have gone unheeded by cowardly politicians who remain in the service of the “almighty” NRA and gun lobbyists, many of whom who refuse to even acknowledge these horrific events unless they involve suspects of a certain color or faith.
The world of sports has never failed to react to these events. Athletes, coaches, and personalities have expressed their feelings without hesitation, knowing that they, or their families, could easily be as affected by these incidents as anyone else.
