She Almost Died Giving Birth. Now, Serena’s Ready To Make History

Ten months ago Serena Williams almost met her maker while giving birth to her daughter Olympia Ohanian. Today she sits on the precipice of winning her record-breaking 24th Grand Slam title and seventh Wimbledon title.

The incomparable saga of the legendary Williams Sisters continues as Serena, ranked 183rd entering the tournament, sliced and slayed all competition and re-established her GOAT status.  

The 36-year-old Williams easily handled 29-year-old Julia Grges 6-2, 6-4, advancing to face a formidable foe in former World No. 1 Angelique Kerber in Saturday’s final. The duel will be a rematch of the 2016 final, which Williams won 7-5, 6-3. Williams has now won 20 consecutive matches at Wimbledon.

 Williams is playing in her fourth tournament and her second Grand Slam since missing more than a year with her pregnancy, but her mobility and agility is still world class, her serve is typically dominant and she hasnt broken a sweat in this tournament —  being taken to three sets just once.
