Report: Rajon Rondo Signing With LeBron And The Lakers

LeBron’s move to LA has had immediate effects, especially on the decisions of NBA veterans.

After Javelle McGahee and Lance “Born Ready” Stephenson decided to sign with the Lakers, today we learned that Rajon Rondo will be leaving The Big Easy and headed to the City of Angels to join The Lake Show 2.0.

According to Wojnarowski, Rondo will be signing a one year deal to join King James and co.

Rondo, 32, leaves the Pelicans after averaging 8.3 points and 8.2 assists per game. He stepped up in the playoffs, averaging 10.3 ppg and 12.2 apg while helping the team advance to the second round of the playoffs. The four time All Star joins his sixth team in five seasons, and makes the backcourt a little more crowded in LA with Lonzo (and LaVar) Ball already occupying the point guard spot. But after a underwhelming season, and now a torn meniscus, Lonzo’s future with the team could be a little cloudy with Rondo’s arrival.

Rondo is the ideal point guard with a pass first mentality, and ranks fourth among active players in assists behind Chris Paul, LeBron and Tony Parker.

To make room for Rondo, the Lakers renounced Julius Randle, making him an unrestricted free agent.
