MJ was a killer who craved that competition so he doesn’t get the teaming up with ya’ buddy thing.
Michael Jordan isn’t feeling the NBA’s Superteam Model. According to his figures, Your Airness says that leaves two great teams and 28 garbage squads. TSL has analyzed, clarified and cautioned our viewers about the potential destruction caused by NBA Superteams in past articles. Finally, Michael Jordan has joined the anti-Super Team train. Of course, his perspective and opinions are influenced by the fact that he is no longer a player on a super team collecting NBA championships like chips on a hot night at the Vegas Poker tables. He’s the Principal Owner and Chairman of the Charlotte Hornets, a franchise that couldn’t possibly sniff a championship under this current NBA landscape, where Golden State and Cleveland basically operate on another talent level than everyone else.

Michael Jordan says super teams hurt NBA from ‘competitive standpoint’ https://t.co/JPxrvy4ECl’
“I think it’s going to hurt the overall aspect of the league from a competitive standpoint, Jordan told Cigar Aficionado Magazine. You’re going to have one or two teams that are going to be great, and another 28 teams that are going to be garbage. Or they’re going to have a tough time surviving in the business environment.
Jordan was always one for competition and played in an NBA where adversaries were much less cozy on and off the court than they tend to be now. He has a stake in this as the owner of a small market club. He hasn’t been able to make Charlotte a destination place for free agents. The team won 48 games in 2015-16 and seemed to be on the rise, but a shift in star power has quickly pushed them to the bottom of the pack again.
Jordan has a compilation of solid players but washed up Dwight Howard and Bronx-born free-shooting point guard Kemba Walker are the faces of his franchise. He’s struggling out here to make a dent and attract heavy hitters in this new NBA, where friends are teaming up and relationships mean everything.

For a guy who carries the looming shadow of being the undisputed GOAT – and who isn’t known as the most humble or enjoyable person to be around in competitive settings – attracting star players will continue to be an issue for Jordan who also can’t seem to draft that all-time blue chipper.
So, yeah, Superteams can be annoying, but coming from a guy who had Scottie Pippen holding him down for over a decade and specific skill position players coming out the woodwork with the Chi-Town Bulls, it sounds more like sour grapes. Jordan better get his wheeling and dealing weight up and attract some superstar talent to Charlotte before the game passes him by.
