Today Seahawks’ defensive end, Michael Bennertt, took to Twitter to reveal that he was held at gunpoint by the Vegas police after the Mayweather-McGregor fight.
In his tweet below, Bennett discusses how he was held down by two Las Vegas police officers at gunpoint, with fears of death flashing through his mind.
“My life flashed before my eyes as I thought of my girls,” wrote Bennett. “Would I ever play with them again? Or watch them have kids? Or be able to kiss my wife again and tell her I love her?”
He went on to reveal thoughts of other victims of police brutality.
“I could only imagine what Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Charleena Lyles felt.”
Bennett has now retained an attorney. You can read his statement below:

This violation that happened against my Brother Michael Bennett is disgusting and unjust. I stand with Michael and I stand with the people.
We can only imagine the amount of new ignorance and hate they’re both about to receive now, but they’re ready for it and so are their supporters.
