Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long has been proving that hes more than simply Howies boy for quite some time now, but thats not to say that his father is incredibly proud of how he has made a name for himself.
During an interview on the Pardon My Take podcast from Barstool Sports, Long made it quite clear what his personal reaction will be should the Eagles win Super Bowl 52.
No, Im not going to the White House, he said. Are you kidding me?
And this isnt anything new for Long, he won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots last year, but opted out of visiting President Trumps White House afterwards.
Trump has waged an all-out war against activist-minded athletes since before he was elected to the presidency. Its got nothing to do with kneeling, marching or respecting soldiers, but it seems like a considerable number of our countrymen would see it otherwise, no matter the evidence.
Chris Long is from Charlottesville, Va., site of the violent white nationalist rally that resulted in the death of one woman, as well as several injuries.
He dedicated his entire 2017 salary to programs supporting educational equality in Charlottesville and other cities where he has played professionally.
