LeBron James and his business partner/confidant Maverick Carter will be teaming up for a documentary that will attempt to highlight the injustices surrounding the current NCAA model. The documentary, titled ‘Student Athlete’, debuts on October 2nd on HBO.
This is an incredibly important story about the institutional denial of basic human rights for these student athletes, Maverick Carter said in a press release.

Hell yes. Pay the players.
Also according to the release the documentary will unveil “the exploitative world of high-revenue college sports through the stories of four young men at different stages of their athletic careers, as well as a coach-turned-advocate and a whistle-blowing shoe rep who exposes the money trail.”
As someone who skipped college and was able to use his talent on and off the court to reap the financial benefits from his likeness, it seems that LeBron wants to speak out against how unfair the current NCAA business model is for the athletes who are generating billions of dollars, and not being fairly compensated.
