The Indianapolis Colts announced today that they had hired Josh McDaniels to be their next head coach.
The only problem is that they obviously didn’t consult with the man who they thought would be leading them in the future. McDaniels has decided to spurn Indy’s job offer and remain with the Patriots, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

McDaniels had repeatedly refused to confirm that he was taking the job, despite being inundated with Colts-related questions before and after the Super Bowl.
Perhaps Bill Belichick and Patriots ownership convinced him that he would serve as the team’s head coach in waiting until it came time for Dolla Dolla Bill to retire.
