Jay-Zs highly-anticipated docu-series about the tragic death and murder of Trayvon Martin is set to premiere at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
The six-part series will provide a definitive look at one of the most talked-about, controversial events of the last decade, with an emphasis on the continued issue of police brutality and the rise of Black Lives Matter, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The series is based on the book Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, written by the aforementioneds parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton.
Jay-Z serves as the series executive producer along with Sybrina Fulton, Tracy Martin, Michael Gasparro, Chachi Senior, Julia Willoughby Nason, Jenner Furst, and Nick Sandow.

Paramount Network has teamed up with executive producer Shawn Carter for a landmark television event, “Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,” based on the life and legacy of Trayvon Martin. The six-part non-scripted documentary series will be the definitive look at one of the most talked-about and controversial events in the last decade that spurred the impactful worldwide “Black Lives Matter” movement.
This premiere is only the beginning of Jay-Zs quest for bail reform, highlighting black businesses and furthering conversations about injustices and brutality in America.
Social conversations that are at times deflected, ignored or forgotten. And Hov does not want to see that happen.
We want to make sure that we stand and support and we never forget [that] Trayvon serves as a beacon of light to the people out here, so you guys never have to go through the pain and hurt that these guys went through, Jay said during the 2018 Peace Walk & Peace Talk rally. His name will sit alongside some of the greats who lost their life to push our culture forwardthe Martin Luther Kings, the Ghandis; that the intention that we set, that his name serves as a beacon of light and hope, and pushes us into a better direction.
