Jalen Ramsey’s The Ultimate Straight Shooter Taking Verbal Aim At QBs

Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey has become the new motor mouth of the NFL, and no matter the consequences hes going to keep saying whatever comes to his mind regardless of who the target is.

Freshly blessed with a one-week suspension for a profanity-laced tirade and Twitter attacks against the media, Ramseys interview with GQ magazine does nothing to soften his emerging reputation as the games most disrespectful shock jock.

Jaguars All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey was suspended by the team for a week, sources say, after going after local media for what he believes is unfair treatment of his teammates especially Dante Fowler. He authored several tweets in support of his teammates & disdain for local media.

In the interview Ramsey goes all in on some of the quarterbacks in the league. While respecting Brady and Rodgers, he isn’t checking for Buffalos Josh Allen, Baltimores Joe Flacco, Pittsburghs Ben Roethlisberger or Atlantas Matt Ryan.

I think Allen is trash, Ramsey told GQ. I dont care what nobody say. Hes trash. And its gonna show too. Thats a stupid draft pick to me. We play them this year, and Im excited as hell. I hope hes their starting quarterback. He played at Wyoming. Every time they played a big schoollike, they played Iowa State, which is not a big school in my opinion because I went to Florida State, and he threw five interceptions, and they lost by a couple touchdowns or something like that. He never beat a big school. If you look at his games against big schools, it was always hella interceptions, hella turnovers. Its like: Yo, if youre this good, why couldnt you do better? He fits that mold, hes a big, tall quarterback. Big arm, supposedly. I dont see it, personally.

Rarely do players straight up say another player is trash or sucks”, especially players with Super Bowl rings, Hall of Fame creds or who theyve never had a personal gripe with.

When Richard Sherman went on his rant about Michael Crabtree, perplexing and shocking Erin Andrews on national TV, the two had a history of battles and confrontations so it had hit a boiling point.

Richard Sherman rips Michael Crabtree in Erin Andrews interview

Seattle Seahawks cornerback uses his post-game interview with Erin Andrews to rip San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree. Sherman: “Well I’m the best corner in the game! When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you gonna get. DON’T YOU EVER TALK ABOUT ME!”

The old winning philosophy is that you dont give the opposition any bulletin board material.

Ramsey has certainly abandoned those principles.

The boisterous and borderline disrespectful Ramsey wasn’t all venom though. He said that Lamar Jackson, who eventually went 32nd overall to Baltimore, should have been chosen sooner and will be the Ravens starting quarterback.

He just undiplomatically trashed Joe Flacco in the process.

Flacco sucks. I played him two years in a row. He sucks, Ramsey said.

Ramsey also dumped on future Hall of Famer, Big Ben Roethlisberger.

Big Ben, I think hes decent at best, Ramsey told the magazine, Its not Big Ben, its [Antonio Brown]. Big Ben slings the ball a lot of the time. He just slings it, and his receivers go get it. He has a strong arm, but he aint all that. I played him twice last year, and he really disappointed me.

Matt Ryan couldnt get any love either.

Jacksonville Jaguars star cornerback Jalen Ramsey calls quarterback Matt Ryan a “complete bust” in 2017 and “overrated”. Matt Ryan graded out as the #2 quarterback in 2017, even in a “down year”. Thoughts? #Falcons @PFF_Falcons

I think Matt Ryans overrated, Ramsey said. You cant tell me you win MVP two years ago, and then last year, you a complete bust, and you still got Julio Jones? Theres no way that should ever happen. I dont care. You know what that tells me? That tells me [Kyle] Shanahan left, went to San Francisco, got [Jimmy] Garoppolo, made Garoppolo this big thing. And now Garoppolo is a big nameand now [Ryan] has this bad year? Alright, well, was it really you, or was it your coach? He was doing what was asked of him and it was making him look really, really good.

There are a few quarterbacks with resumes worthy of Ramseys praise. When asked who doesnt suck, Ramsey replied:

I love this kid. He got alllllllllllll the takes. https://t.co/THrWDUG8Df

Aaron Rodgers does not. Tom Brady doesnt, Ramsey said. I gotta think now, about all the teams. . . . I think Marcus Mariota is a great quarterback for their team. I think Tyrod Taylor is actually a better quarterback than he gets credit for, because he does not make mistakes. Hes honestly a Marcus Mariota type player, where he manages a game really well, always has them at least in position to be in the game late in the game. . . . Deshaun Watson, hell be the league MVP in a couple years. One hundred percent. Theres not even a debate about that. Him and Carson Wentz, for every year starting now until five to 10 years, its gonna be them two. Theyre that good. . . . Dak Prescott, hes good. Hes alright. Hes OK.

Ramsey provides all of the inspiration that the opposition needs to try and pulverize the Jags, but as long as theres a mic and someone willing to report what he says, Ramsey will continue to push the envelope when it comes to trash-talking.
