Floyd Mayweather took to social media early this morning and posted a video of him and Manny Pacquiao confronting each other in a nightclub where he announced his comeback against the Filipino legend in December.

If true, Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) would be seeking his 51st win in an already illustrious career that saw him defeat he Filipino Senator three years ago in Las Vegas. The overhyped bout, while recognized as the most entertaining pre-fight event ever (until Mayweather vs. McGregor), was seen as a major let down for most fans that paid the exorbitant PPV rates for the one-sided fight. Now, the 41-year old Mayweather is eyeing a return and it seems that Pacquiao is the only bout that warrants his usual enormous paydays for a single event.
In the Instagram video, Mayweather clowns Pacquiao, saying that he doesn’t want to hear anything about a hurt shoulder this time, a reference to Pacquiao’s team announcing after the fight that he had suffered an injury during training camp.

To date, the fight is the highest grossing PPV fight of all time with more than 4.6 million buys. With Pacquiao sill fighting to maintain his lifestyle and charitable deeds in his native country, it’s safe to assume that this fight is attractive to him as well.
Mayweather’s purse amount for the first fight was a $100 million guarantee, which he more than doubled when all was said and done. Two years later, Mayweather raked in over $300 million after his TKO win over MMA star turned debutant boxer, Conor McGregor.

Pacquiao (60-7-2) has always been the ‘B’ side in his matchup with Mayweather and the numbers prove it. He made $160 million against Mayweather but with many feeling that Pacquiao’s injury preceded him from being his best, the fight still has global intrigue, which ultimately translates into a big payday. Pacquiao recently knocked out Lucas Matthysse in July, earning him his first KO victory since 2009.
Between a silly beef with 50 Cent and now teasing the world with a Pacquiao rematch, Mayweather always knows how to keep the world watching with baited breath.
