Eric Reid, Like Kaepernick, Files Collusion Grievance Against NFL

Free agent safety Eric Reid has filed a collusion grievance against the NFL according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.

The 26-year-old safety became a free agent, in March and hasn’t been signed by a team yet. Reid has been vocal about speaking against racial injustice, especially after he decided to kneel alongside Colin Kaepernick during the anthem. He decided to continue his protest in 2017 even though Kap wasn’t in the league.

Reid, who saw his friend and former teammate Kaepernick being shut out of the league despite far inferior quarterbacks being signed, wants to get ahead of it before being unjustly banished forever from the league.

In September ESPN’s Max Kellerman, perfectly expressed what became so clear to see; Colin Kaepernick was being blackballed.

The NFLPA issued this statement on Wednesday: Our union is aware Eric Reid and his representatives filed a collusion claim, which will be heard through the arbitration process as spelled out in our (CBA). Our union supports Eric and we are considering other legal options to pursue.

Reid said he does not plan to continue his protest next season.
