For Adrien The Problem Broner, his bowling alley incident is the begrudged gift that keeps on giving.
The former WBA World welterweight champion was ordered Tuesday to spend 30 days in jail after he failed to show up for a scheduled trial.
Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Robert Ruehlman found The Problem in contempt of court for the missed appearance.
Broner, 26, was scheduled to stand trial Tuesday morning on charges of felonious assault and aggravated robbery in connection with the January 21st incident outside of the Madison Bowl bowling alley in his native Cincinnati. He had been free on bond since being charged.
Broners last fight against British Mayweather Promotions fighter, Ashely Theophane last April was in danger of cancellation due to the alleged incident when a warrant was issued for his arrest by Hamilton County.
Broner was allowed to fight, but showed extreme unprofessionalism by showing up late to press conferences and not making weight for the bout.
Subsequently, Broner lost his super lightweight title for that fight after he was four-tenths over the 140-pound limit.
This week, when Broner didnt appear in court, Judge Ruehlman issued yet another warrant for his arrest. Broner showed up to the courthouse around noon, however, and the Judge still imposed the jail sentence.
The alleged victim in the case, Christopher Carson, also did not show up for Tuesdays trial and hasnt attended any previous court hearings.
Judge Ruehlman told Broner that he may have dismissed the case on Tuesday if Broner had been in the courtroom on time.

According to the court transcript obtained by the Cincinnati Enquirer, Broner told Judge Ruehlman that, “Somebody put something in my drink… I don’t even drink. I didn’t drink last night.”
Ruehlman responded with, “You don’t look well. You look like you have a hangover.”
“I have been sick all morning,” Broner replied. “When I finally got well, I called my lawyer.”
“It’s not a good excuse,” Ruehlman said. “He looks like he’s drunk or hungover. To coin a little boxing phrase you’re not ducking this one.”
Broner posted an optimistic message on his Twitter Monday:

Broner, who has emulated the visage of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. his whole career, is now more known for jail stints, a sex tape and buffoonery than actual pugilism. As the head of About Billions Promotions with a stable of upcoming fighters like standout Robert Easter, Jr., one can only hope he cleans his act up.
