Roger Goodell Is Becoming The NFL’s Kindergarten Cop

The NFL's crackdown on goalpost dunking was just the beginning. According to NFL Media's Judy Battista, taunting penalties tripled last season, but once again, eradication of self-expression in sports has taken another step forward. According to Jeff Fisher, the NCAA asked the NFL to cut down on taunting as it has trickled down to the college game. Kindergarten cop Roger Goodell sent one of his lieutenants out there to explain the NFL's War on Emotion.

"We're going to clean the game up on the field between the players," St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said at the Competition Committee news conference on Wednesday. "The in-your-face taunting. The language. It's all in the book. It's all under unsportsmanlike conduct. There's no change in our rule. We're going to enforce the current rule."

As I said yesterday, the next wave of NFL players will be forced to walk single file off the field, shake hands, then retreat towards their cubicle desks until the next change of possession. This is getting absurd, but if the NFL wants more placid players, legalizing purp may be their best option
