Rap Star Juice WRLD Dead At Age 21

Rap star Juice WRLD is dead after suffering a seizure in Chicago’s Midway airport.

Born Jarad Anthony Higgins, the talented rapper first burst onto the scene last year when his single “Lucid Dreams” lifted all the way to No. 2 on the Hot 100.

His flight from California landed early Sunday morning, after deplaning he suffered the tragedy. Authorities say he was bleeding from the mouth when paramedics got on scene.

Chicago police could only confirm a 21-year-old male suffered a medical emergency at Chicago’s Midway Airport and later died at a nearby hospital.

An autopsy hasn’t been performed, and no cause of death has been determined, Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office spokeswoman Natalia Derevyanny said.

Juice was signed to Interscope Records in March 2018 after scoring hits on SoundCloud with “Lucid Dreams” and “All Girls Are the Same,” according to Billboard magazine, which profiled the artist in March.SoundCloud says Juice was the most streamed, liked, and reposted artist on its platform in 2018 and “Lucid Dreams” notched the most plays of any song last year. Juice WRLD was named Top New Artist at the Billboard Music Awards in May.
Let’s hope his death wasn’t drug-related and just a tragic circumstance. Either way, another young, black successful brother with an entire life of great opportunities in front of him dies before he can really mature and smell the fruits of his labor.
