Painkillers Hide Concussion Symptoms

DeMaurice Smith spoke about concussions with USA Today, talking candidly about one of the NFL's most pressing concerns. In his comments, Smith changed the conversation to include painkillers.

Some painkillers, like Toradol, exacerbated sub-concussive symptoms and others hide symptoms of concussions.

Recently, Jason Taylor described his extreme pain during his career in the NFL, recounting stories like sleeping standing up on the stairs to relieve pain in his feet.

Smith also discussed HGH testing in the NFL, something the NFLPA has typically opposed.
