New Balance has reportedly targeted Gordon Hayward as the face for the company’s re-entry into the highly competitive basketball market.
Although the Boston Celtics forward, recovering from a gruesome leg injury suffered at the start of last season, is currently a Nike signee, there’s an opportunity for a brand switch before the upcoming season, and New Balance is hoping Hayward makes the cross over.
The sneaker company currently doesn’t have a basketball section on its website, but the pairing of Hayward and the Boston based New Balance could prove to be a perfect match, especially since the company recently partnered with the Celtics on the team’s new practice facility.
