NBC’s Ironside, starring Blair Underwood, has been officially canceled with the final episode airing Wednesday 10/23. The show, about a black police detective in a wheel chair who happens to date beautiful women, premiered with lower than expected ratings that decreased each week. NBC pulled the plug without ever giving the show a fair chance, marking the second time in two years, that a show featuring Underwood in the lead role has been quickly canceled by the network.
